Author Card Webquest {pull cart} {girl reading} Introduction: Have you noticed there are alot of baseball cards available? Baseball cards have led to football, basketball, and many other cards. What if the library had author cards to look at? Task: You will create an author card that contains the following:
Process: Step 1: Choose an author Step 2: Read a book by author Step 3: Research the author to find the following information: * a picture of the author * biographical information * list of books author wrote Step 4: Save a picture of the author onto a disk. If your picture is on the internet, hold down the mouse on the picture and choose Save Image As. Save it onto your disk. Make sure it says A drive. If picture is in book, see Mrs. Rushing. Step 5:Create your card using Microsoft Word. Use Page Setup and set the paper size to 6" wide and 4" high. Set all four margins to .25". Using the column button in the top, make two columns. The first column will be the front of the card. The second column will be the back of the card. * Front of the card should include the picture of the author, biographical information, and a list of some of the books that the author wrote. * Back of the card should include a brief description of your favorite title by that author and why you like that particular title or author. Step 6: Print your card out, fold it in half and trim it. Turn it in to be laminated.
