Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tara Chesney
My name is Tara Chesney. This is my first year at Reno Elementary as the Math Specialist. I live in Springtown with my husband, Kiley, and 2 boys. My oldest son, Kaleb, is a freshman at Tarleton State University. My youngest son, Camden, is a freshman at Springtown High School. They both have kept us very busy over the years playing football, basketball, and baseball.
I have been in education for 21 years. After graduating from Texas Woman's University in 1997, I began my education career as a 6th grade math teacher at Hoover Elementary in Azle ISD. After 2 years there, I moved to the brand new Junior High across the street, Forte Junior High, where I taught 8th grade math and Algebra I for 5 years. I then moved to Creekview Middle School in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, where I again taught 8th grade math and Algebra I for 3 years. It was then that I decided to come to Springtown to teach. I was at the Middle School, teaching advanced 7th and 8th grade math, for 10 years. It was this year that the opportunity arose for me to come to Reno Elementary as the Math Specialist!
I love math, and am very excited to be a part of Reno Elementary. These young mathematicians are going to do great things on our campus. I can not wait to see the awesome things they accomplish this year!
