Mrs. D'Jauhn Cross
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year!
My name is D’Jauhn Cross, and I am so excited to be part of the faculty of Springtown Intermediate School. This is my 23nd year of teaching Reading, 14th of teaching Sixth Grade.
I grew up down Highway 199 in Azle. I spent all 13 years of my education there, then attended Baylor University. I married a hometown boy, and we came home to raise our family in the small town community where we grew up. Our family has grown up and left the nest, but we continue to place the most value in our children. We spend our weekends together working on the farm, boating, rock climbing, and playing games. Having adult children is SO much fun!
This sense of family rolls over into my classroom as well. I value relationships with my students first and foremost. I am silly, loud, and loving, but also strict and structured with high expectations of my students. I try to make learning fun and inspire a love of reading in my kids. A lifelong reader can learn whatever they want long after leaving a classroom!
I am so happy to be in the classroom this year! Though Covid has changed how we do some things, it is still school, and we have so much to do!
Communication between us is key to having a successful year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to connecting with you all whether it be by phone or email.
