Chris McLellan

Chris McLellan is currently in his twenty-seventh year as a music educator and twelfth year as Director of Bands for the Springtown ISD.  Before coming to Springtown, Chris taught in the Glen Rose ISD for twelve years.  Under his direction, Chris’ bands have earned 22 sweepstakes, placed in numerous marching contests and competed in the UIL State Marching Band Contest in 2006, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 in which the Springtown Bands have placed in finals 3 times: 2012, 2016 and 2018. His percussion students have been annual members of the ATSSB All-Region and All-Area Bands and he has taught 10 All-State percussionists.  He served for three years as a percussion organizer for the ATSSB All-State Bands from 1999-2001, has served on the State Auditions and Review Committee (SARC) two different times and was the Region Coordinator for ATSSB Region 7 (2013-2016) and ATSSB Region 5 (2016-2019).

Chris is a Texas Music Adjudicators Association certified judge for UIL Marching and Concert Band Contests and an active clinician.

Chris currently lives in Fort Worth with his wife Mary and two sons Ian and Jackson both who are percussionists in the Aledo ISD Band program. He is a member of ATSSB, TMEA, TMAA, TBA and Phi Beta Mu, Alpha Chapter.
