Here at Goshen Creek Elementary, we employ two different programs for our character education:
The Medal of Honor Character Development Program promotes good character in our students by teaching them the values exemplified by Congressional Medal of Honor recipients: Courage, Sacrifice, Patriotism, Citizenship, Integrity, and Commitment. Our students are participating in Medal of Honor lessons each week in their classrooms to learn about each of these core values. We feel this is the perfect program to teach our students to be upstanders rather than just bystanders!
The Ripple Kindness Project is a school-wide guidance curriculum that is taught from the counseling office. It includes components of social-emotional learning, kindness lessons, and mindfulness. This program, in combination with The Medal of Honor Character Development Program, will help to ensure that GCES is a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that fosters learning for all of our students.
If you have any questions about any of our Character Education, please contact our counselor, Sarah Raj, at 817.220.0272, or email, email@example.com.
Be a buddy, not a bully!
