Welcome! A little about me----I spent several of my "growing-up" years in this area. I graduated high school from Decatur High School and then left to go to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. I graduated from there in 1995 with a Bachelor of Music degree. In May of 2019, I graduated from the University of Texas in Tyler with a Master of Education degree.
It was at UMHB that I met my husband, Shane. We married in 1993 and settled into the central Texas area. We have three children, Grace is married to Quent and Ethan is a junior in high school We also have a fabulous goldendoodle named Bella. We decided to move back to this area when my husband became the pastor of Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Reno 14 years ago.
I taught music for 1 year in Temple, TX, and 5 years in Killeen, TX. I decided I wanted to teach in the regular education classroom. I taught 2nd grade in Killeen for 6 years. This is my 15th year in Springtown and my 27th year in teaching.
I enjoy reading, computing, singing, writing, playing the piano and doing church activities! I love spending time with my family. In addition to teaching, I have written curriculum for LifeWay and have authored a book for schools.
I also LOVE sloths!
