Welcome Back to School!!!

    Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new school year!  I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this year!  My goal is to provide a safe, secure, and successful environment while doing my best to meet the needs for each child.

I believe that education is the key to success and that your student holds the key for our future.  I hold strong expectations for my students because I know what these brilliant minds are capable of.  With the right tools, attitudes, and support these third graders will master the content of this year and will also be prepared for third grade at the end of the year.  This, of course, is not possible without your help.  As parents and families, you are the first teachers your child has.  If we work together, we can help guide the students through a successful year in school and prepare them for life ahead.

I believe that good communication between parents and teachers is very important and vital to the total education of the child.  I will promptly answer emails within 24 hours.  I will do my best to keep you informed of your child's progress.  At the three-week mark of each nine weeks period, progress reports will be sent out on all students.

Graded papers will be sent home each week on Tuesday in their RED Take Home Folder.

Your child's folder will also contain a weekly newsletter that will include homework assignments, spelling lists, behavior, and any other notes or flyers from the teacher.  This will be a major source of communication between home and school. Please check your child’s take-home folder each night.  If you have any concerns, questions, or suggestions please write a note in the communication section of your child’s folder.  Remind your child to let me know if you have written in their folder.

If your child is absent he/she will be given an Absent Folder.  Inside the folder he/she will find all the assignments that he/she missed due to being absent.  It is your child’s responsibility to complete all of the work and turn in the folder.  If your child has a question about any of the work he/she missed it is his/her responsibility to ask questions.  Tests will only be made up in the classroom!

We highly encourage your child to be in attendance and on time.  Instruction continues through the day, each child will be learning every minute of the day.

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to arrange a conference.  My conference period is from 10:30-11:30.  The school phone number is 817-220-0272 and my e-mail address is madams@springtownisd.net.  Please feel free to call me or e-mail me anytime.  I value your input.

I am looking forward to working with your child and you during the 2017-2018 school year.

    Ms. Adams
