Degrees and Certifications:

Animal Science Abilene Christian University

Ms. Wendy Kennedy

I am Mrs.Kennedy and I teach 6th grade Science.  My degree is in Animal Science which I received at Abilene Christian University. My first job was a zoo keeper at the San Antonio Zoo where I took care of rhinos, lions, cheetahs, tigers and various other animals.
My daughter and I love to travel every summer. Traveling has given me the opportunity to share those adventures with my students. I have been to Kenya, Africa, Ghana, West Africa, Bangkok, Thailand, along with various zoos, science museums and animal sanctuaries.
I love science and I attend camps for teachers in the summer which allows me to bring that information to the classroom. I attend and present at CAST, which is a science teacher conference each year. I work part time at the Fort Worth Zoo and Fort Worth Museum of Science and History in the Education Departments.
I enjoy teaching 6th grade because it is all new curriculum and I get the opportunity to introduce the new ideas that will be tested on the 8th grade Science STAAR test.
I will post pictures from various labs and class projects on my Facebook Page: Kennedy's Rhinos. When you LIKE the page, the information will be on your Facebook Page!
I will also use REMIND for notes or important messages or the Skyward Gradebook.
I am so excited to teach your child this year and follow them through their educational adventures.
