Welcome to SIS Choirs!  We are blessed to have several choirs here at SIS.

    6th Grade Choir Class

The 6th Grade Choir class is an elective that can be chosen in 6th grade. Students in the choir class meet daily during their class period to learn musicianship, singing technique, music theory, and even some music creation and recording!  The 6th Grade Choir does not have any afterschool rehearsals but DOES have optional evening performances.  There is also an optional conctest/field trip planned for the end of the school year.  More details to come after February.

Students who perform with the 6th Grade Choir will need a Choir Polo Shirt ($15).  Those who attend the contest/field trip in the spring will need to cover the cost of any tickets or meals.  There will be a fundraiser in the spring to help students with the costs of both the polo shirt and the trip.

    Honor Choir

The SIS Honor choir is an afterschool choir made up of both 5th and 6th grade students who love to sing.  While currently on break due to COVID 19 restrictions, the Honor Choir normally meets on Thursday afternoons until 5:00PM.

Students who participate in the Honor Choir will have the opportunity to perform at concerts and to attend TWO contests/field trips.  In order to become a member of the Honor Choir, a student must successfully complete their audition, maintain an average of 80 or better in their classes, and maintain E's and S's in citizenship for all classes.

We look forward to when we can announce the start of Honor Choir for the 2020-2021 school year.  Until then, check back regularly for more information!

    5th Grade Music Classes

While the 5th Grade Music classes are not a choir, during each music class we will spend several weeks focusing on singing technique, vocal health, and performance etiquette.  At the end of this unit, we perform a concert for friends and family.  Due to COVID - 19 restrictions, our concerts are currently virtual.  There are no after school rehearsals for the 5th Grade Music Class.
