Springtown ISD is proud to announce it has been recognized as a 2026 Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) by The NAMM Foundation, marking the ninth consecutive year the district has received this national honor.

The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to school districts across the United States that demonstrate outstanding achievement and commitment to providing access to high-quality music education for all students. Now in its 27th year, the program celebrates and supports districts that prioritize music as part of a well-rounded education.

In 2026, more than 1,000 school districts and schools, including public, private, charter, and parochial institutions, were recognized for their dedication to music education.

Springtown ISD is honored to be recognized as a Best Communities for Music Education for the 9th year in a row, a reflection of the districtโ€™s continued investment in its students, staff, and programs.

"This recognition speaks volumes about the heart of our district," said Superintendent Shane Strickland. "Our music programs provide students with opportunities to grow not only as performers, but as individuals, building confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging. We are incredibly proud of our educators who pour so much into their students each and every day."

The BCME award program evaluates districts through a comprehensive application process that reviews key indicators including funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities, and community support. To ensure accuracy and credibility, all responses are verified by WolfBrown, a leading research and evaluation firm specializing in education and the arts.

Springtown ISD offers a wide range of music opportunities for students at all grade levels, including choir, band, and elementary music programs that encourage both individual growth and collaborative learning experiences.

"Music education plays a critical role in supporting the whole child," said Assistant Superintendent of Academics Tiffany Cano. "Through music, our students develop creativity, collaboration, and perseverance, skills that extend far beyond the classroom. This recognition highlights the intentional work happening across our campuses to ensure every student has access to meaningful and engaging learning experiences."

Springtown ISD remains committed to expanding opportunities for students and ensuring that music education continues to thrive across the district. Congratulations to our directors, instructors, and students!
