SISD Bond

BOND PROJECTS UPDATE

Thanks to the continued support of Springtown ISD voters, the district is moving forward with plans to build a new elementary school and expand Springtown Middle School to accommodate our rapidly growing student population. Safety and security updates have already begun, renovations to Springtown Elementary are currently being reviewed, project quotes are being gathered, and Career & Technology Education (CTE) equipment needs are actively being analyzed.

The 2025 bond package, approved by voters, includes:

  • A new elementary school

  • Renovations to Springtown Elementary

  • A science and Career & Technology Education (CTE) addition at Springtown Middle School

  • Upgraded CTE equipment and facilities

  • Enhanced safety and security measures

  • New school buses to support transportation needs

The new elementary campus will help address significant capacity needs, especially as the district realigns grade levels by moving 5th grade from Springtown Intermediate back to our elementary campuses. This change will relieve overcrowding and better balance enrollment across the district.

Springtown ISD has also invited elementary teachers, principals, program representatives, and district leadership to engage in a series of meetings and activities, led by Huckabee Architects, to help guide the design process. Their feedback is essential in ensuring the new facilities reflect the needs and priorities of our students, staff, and community.

We had our bond ratings call with our Financial Advisor on June 19th, and we expect to receive those determinations late next week. Following that, we will present information regarding the formal finance plan to the Board of Trustees at a called meeting on July 8th.

Construction Manager selections for these projects follow a formal Request for Fee Proposals (RFP) process and are approved by the Springtown ISD Board of Trustees, ensuring the district remains committed to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the district has extended invitations to more than 40 individuals to serve on the Bond Oversight Committee. The first committee meeting will be scheduled for late July, with quarterly meetings planned to review project updates and progress.

We are grateful for the community’s support in helping us build a stronger future for Springtown students.

Safety & Security Updates

Springtown ISD has begun major upgrades to campus-wide video surveillance and access control systems. Over 400 new high-definition security cameras are being installed across all campuses, significantly improving our ability to monitor and respond to activity on school grounds. Simultaneously, new access control systems with updated card readers and secure intercoms are being implemented at key entry points, enhancing our ability to manage and restrict building access. These improvements are designed to create safer learning environments for students and staff through greater visibility, accountability, and control.

Springtown ISD is expanding the use of the Raptor Badge Alert system with Live Visual Messaging across all campuses following a pilot at Springtown Intermediate School. During the pilot, we tested physical strobe lights in hallways to provide visual emergency alerts. While this offered some benefit, the system integration proved inconsistent and limited to only a few locations. Raptor’s enhanced solution now allows emergency visual alerts to appear instantly on any connected display—including TVs in common areas and Promethean panels in classrooms. Beginning in July, campuses will begin the badge alert and visual messaging integration so the system is ready when students and staff return. This upgrade will ensure faster, clearer communication during emergencies, reaching every part of the building to better protect and inform students and staff.

Elementary Site Visits in Progress

Springtown ISD leadership is visiting elementary campuses across the region as part of the planning process for the new elementary school. These visits help us gather ideas, explore design options, and identify features that align with our community’s values. Our goal is to ensure bond funds are used effectively and responsibly while creating a space that meets the needs of our growing student population.

By the Community, For the Community

The Springtown ISD Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee (CFAC) comprised a diverse group of 58 Springtown community members and leaders with various perspectives met eight times over the past five months. Their charge was to evaluate the district's long-term facility needs and help produce the long-range facility plan and vision going forward. A recommendation was then made to the SISD Board of Trustees in January.
