The Springtown ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the acceptance of the Certification of Unopposed Candidates for the Board of Trustees Election originally scheduled for May 2, 2026, and adopted an Order of Cancellation declaring the election canceled in accordance with Texas Election Law.

The Board’s action also officially declares the unopposed candidates elected.

Maegan South filed for Springtown ISD Trustee Place 5, and Chris Gilley filed for Springtown ISD Trustee Place 4. Because both candidates are running unopposed, state law allows the district to cancel the election and declare the candidates elected.

Current Trustee Gary Veazey will continue serving in Place 5 until the end of his term in May. Chris Gilley, who currently holds Place 4, will also complete his current term before beginning a new term.

In May, Maegan South and Chris Gilley will take the oath of office and officially begin their new terms on the Springtown ISD Board of Trustees.

Springtown ISD Board members serve three-year terms, with trustee elections conducted annually. The district appreciates the commitment of community members who choose to serve and support public education in Springtown.
