Excellence in Education

Springtown ISD is proud to announce that the district has been selected as a Semi-Finalist in the preliminary judging of the prestigious 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards.

This year, more than 2,000 applications were submitted by educators and school districts from across Texas. From that highly competitive pool, only 25 districts were selected as semi-finalists and advanced to the regional judging process.

According to H-E-B, reviewers were extremely impressed with Springtown ISD’s written responses and the district’s extensive professional accomplishments, highlighting the dedication, innovation, and commitment to excellence demonstrated across the district.

As a result of this recognition, Springtown ISD was awarded a $500 H-E-B gift card.

Each year, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program recognizes outstanding public school professionals across Texas by awarding cash prizes and celebrating their dedication to students and communities. Since its inception in 2002, the program has awarded nearly $15 million to teachers, counselors, principals, public schools, early childhood centers, school boards, and school districts. In addition, H-E-B continues to support public education by contributing more than $12 million annually to education initiatives across the state.

“We are incredibly proud of this recognition,” said Superintendent Shane Strickland. “This honor reflects the hard work of our staff, the support of our community, and our shared commitment to providing the best possible opportunities for our students.”

Springtown ISD is honored to be recognized among the top districts in Texas and remains committed to continuing the tradition of excellence that makes Porcupine Nation so special.
