Springtown ISD is receiving $12,179 back through its workers’ compensation program thanks in part to efforts to keep employees safe and prevent workplace injuries.
Springtown ISD participates in the Public Workers’ Compensation Program (PWCP), which helps the District provide workers’ compensation coverage while also focusing on preventing injuries before they happen.
Throughout the year, Springtown ISD employees participate in safety training, health and wellness programs, and other injury-prevention efforts. The program also provides safety equipment, including slip-resistant shoes and boots for employees whose jobs may put them at a higher risk of slips and falls.
Those efforts are paying off.
PWCP is returning more than $13.1 million to participating organizations for the 2025–2026 year. Springtown ISD will receive $12,179 of that money.
“This is a win all the way around,” Superintendent Shane Strickland said. “The most important thing is keeping our employees safe. When we can do that while also saving money that can be put back into our District, that’s something worth celebrating. This refund is also a credit to our employees who take workplace safety seriously every day.”
The $12,179 returned to Springtown ISD can now be used to support District personnel and other initiatives.
