SISD Parents: Action Needed for 2025-2026 School Year! New state requirements (SB 12) mean parents must give permission for certain services. ✅
👉 Three quick forms are waiting for you in Skyward Family Access (under “Online Forms”):
1️⃣ Student Clubs – Parents must give written consent before students can participate in any school-sponsored clubs.
2️⃣ Health Services – Nurses now need parent permission for care like first aid, health checks, and screenings (unless it’s an emergency).
3️⃣ Counseling & Support Services – Parent consent is required before students can participate in guidance lessons, goal-setting, or short-term support services.
⚠️ Please log in to your student’s Skyward account and complete the forms. These are required for the 2025-2026 school year.

Hunt ISD and the surrounding Hill Country communities have not been the same since July 4. When one Texas school district is affected, we all feel it. On August 20, Porcupines wear green to show our support for Hunt ISD and the Eagles as they begin their school year. 💚 #HillCountryStrong #PorcupineFamily

The Springtown Police Department wants to remind our community that school zones will officially be back in effect on the first day of School, August 13th (Wednesday)! 🚦 Please check the school zone times on the graphic below and remember to SLOW DOWN and look both ways for children.
📚 We currently have over 4,400 students registered for the new school year — that’s more than 200 students above last year! While we know first-day “no shows” may bring that number down a bit… that’s still a LOT of Porcupines! 🦔🧡
✅ Be mindful of school zones
✅ Show grace as everyone learns pick-up and drop-off routines
✅ Let’s work together for a safe and smooth start to the year!

Porcupine Family,
We want to make you aware of a new state law that will impact all public schools across Texas, including Springtown ISD. Governor Greg Abbott has signed House Bill 1481 into law, which prohibits K-12 students from using personal digital devices, including cell phones and smartwatches, during school hours.
Please know: this is not a local district initiative—it is now state law and will go into effect at the start of the 2025–2026 school year.
While the law provides some flexibility for districts in how to implement the ban, such as allowing use during extracurricular activities or providing secure storage options, Springtown ISD is currently reviewing what implementation will look like on our campuses.
We will communicate more details as we get closer to the start of the school year. For now, we simply wanted to make families aware that students will not be allowed to use personal digital devices during the school day beginning in 2025–2026, in accordance with HB 1481.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to comply with state law and ensure the best learning environment for all students.

📢 BOND PROJECTS UPDATE – JUNE 2025
Thanks to the support of Springtown ISD voters, we’re moving forward with several exciting projects to support our fast-growing student population and create safe, innovative learning environments across the district.
🏗️ Here’s what’s happening so far:
✔️ Planning is underway for a new elementary school
✔️ Expansion of Springtown Middle School is in progress
✔️ Safety & security upgrades have begun district-wide
✔️ Springtown Elementary renovations are being reviewed
✔️ CTE equipment needs are currently being assessed
✔️ We will soon request Construction Manager Proposals for review
📍 Elementary teachers, principals, and district leaders are partnering with Huckabee Architects to help design the new elementary campus—bringing back ideas from regional school visits to ensure it reflects our community’s values.
🔒 Safety First:
Over 400 new high-def security cameras and upgraded access control systems are being installed to enhance student and staff safety. We’re also expanding the Raptor Badge Alert System with live visual alerts to all campuses for faster emergency communication.
🚌 Looking Ahead:
We’ll present the formal finance plan to the Board of Trustees on July 8, and the Bond Oversight Committee will begin meeting later this summer to help ensure transparency and accountability every step of the way.
