There is a lot of great news to share from Monday night’s Springtown ISD Board of Trustees meeting!
💰 BUDGET & TAX RATE
The Board approved a balanced 2026–2027 budget of $48,296,198 and adopted a tax rate of $1.0206 per $100 valuation.
When information about the 2025 Bond was shared with our community prior to the election, projections anticipated that the District’s tax rate would increase if the bond passed.
The bond passed - but the tax rate DECREASED! 🎉
Last year’s rate was $1.0317, compared to the newly adopted rate of $1.0206. We are incredibly proud to continue investing in the future of Springtown ISD while remaining responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

We're encouraged to share that current reports show 4.92% of our community are without power, which is a significant improvement from just a few days ago. Because of this progress, Springtown ISD will reopen all campuses tomorrow morning (April 30th).
We also understand that not every family will be in a position to return just yet. Student absences will be excused with a note submitted to your respective campus, and we will continue working with families as needed during this time.
Additionally, we are in communication with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) regarding the administration of the STAAR test and will keep you updated as soon as we have more information on any adjustments.
We are truly looking forward to welcoming our students and staff back. It has been incredible to see the strength, resilience, and heart of this community over the past several days. Let's continue to support one another and carry that momentum forward.
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for each other.
At this time, 1,091 homes in our zip code are still without power, and many areas are experiencing rolling outages as crews work to restore service. We know this has been an incredibly challenging time for so many of our families, and this decision was not made lightly.
With additional storms projected this afternoon and evening, we want everyone to remain safe and focused on taking care of your homes and loved ones.
Please continue to stay safe, check on those around you, and take care of your families during this time. We will keep you updated as we assess conditions moving forward.
We are thinking of each of you and are so grateful for the strength of this community.
Springtown ISD will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28.
At this time, we have reports indicating that 33.66% of our community is still without power, and we know many of our families are continuing to navigate storm damage and recovery efforts. We want to ensure our students, staff, and families have the time and resources they need during this situation.
If your student was scheduled to participate in any organization, program, or activity, those instructors and program directors will be reaching out with updates and next steps.
We continue to keep our entire community in our thoughts and are hopeful for continued progress in restoration efforts. Please stay safe and take care of one another.
We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Out of an abundance of caution, Springtown ISD will be closed tomorrow.
We know this weather event has caused significant damage across our community, impacting many of our families' homes and properties. With much of our town without power and serious damage to their properties, we want to give everyone time and space needed to take care of your families, assess damage, and begin the recovery process.
Please know that our hearts are with each of you during this difficult time. We are truly sorry our community has been impacted in this way, and we are hoping that everyone is safe and able to find a secure place to stay if needed.
Please continue to stay safe, check on one another, and take the time you need to recover.
We will keep you updating with any additional information as it becomes available.
