There is a lot of great news to share from Monday night’s Springtown ISD Board of Trustees meeting!
💰 BUDGET & TAX RATE
The Board approved a balanced 2026–2027 budget of $48,296,198 and adopted a tax rate of $1.0206 per $100 valuation.
When information about the 2025 Bond was shared with our community prior to the election, projections anticipated that the District’s tax rate would increase if the bond passed.
The bond passed - but the tax rate DECREASED! 🎉
Last year’s rate was $1.0317, compared to the newly adopted rate of $1.0206. We are incredibly proud to continue investing in the future of Springtown ISD while remaining responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

BOND AND TAX RATE UPDATE!
At Monday night’s Board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the District’s 2026 tax rate of $1.0206 per $100 of taxable value.
When we shared information leading up to the May 2025 Bond Election, projections showed that passage of the bond could result in an increase to the District’s tax rate.
Great news... the tax rate actually DECREASED! 🎉
The District’s tax rate in 2025 was $1.0317. The newly approved 2026 rate is $1.0206, a decrease of a little over one penny per $100 of taxable value compared to last year.

Things are MOVING across Springtown ISD!
🏫 Littleton Springs Elementary seems to have a new wall every day! Stay tuned for new drone footage showing just how much progress has been made.
🚧 Springtown Elementary renovations are ALMOST complete! Brand new restrooms are nearing completion, and the new HVAC systems are up and running.
🔨 Springtown Middle School has officially broken ground on its new Science and CTE addition!
Both Littleton Springs Elementary and the SMS Science and CTE addition remain on schedule to open for the 2027–2028 school year.
There is a LOT happening in Springtown ISD and we are thankful for a community that continues to invest in our students, staff and schools. 🧡

Wednesday, August 12th is the BIG DAY, Porcupines! 🧡🖤 As we head back to school, here are a few important reminders to help keep everyone safe and make the first day run as smoothly as possible:
🚸 SLOW DOWN & WATCH FOR SCHOOL ZONES! Please be extra cautious in our school zones and be prepared to stop for school buses. 🚌 A huge thank you to the Springtown Police for monitoring our school zones and helping keep our Porcupines safe!
🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT - SPRINGTOWN MIDDLE SCHOOL SMS has a new bus loop this year as construction continues on our new Science & CTE Wing! Our bus drivers have completed test runs, but tomorrow will be the real deal with buses, parent drop-off and pick-up, students, and staff all arriving at once. The first few days are always an adjustment as everyone learns the new routine. We promise… it gets better! 🧡
☀️ IT’S GOING TO BE HOT! High temperatures are expected during the first few weeks of school. Because of their size and the frequent opening of doors at stops, buses can struggle to stay cool in extreme heat. We encourage students to fill up a water bottle before leaving campus in the afternoon so they have something to drink on the ride home. Above all, please be patient, be kind, and give everyone a little grace as we get back into the swing of things.

We hope you are continuing to make progress with cleanup efforts following the recent storms. We know recovery looks different for everyone. Some may be back to normal soon, while for others it may take weeks or even months. We are feeling it too, and we know many of you are physically and emotionally exhausted.
We're encouraged to share that current reports show 4.92% of our community are without power, which is a significant improvement from just a few days ago. Because of this progress, Springtown ISD will reopen all campuses tomorrow morning (April 30th).
We also understand that not every family will be in a position to return just yet. Student absences will be excused with a note submitted to your respective campus, and we will continue working with families as needed during this time.
Additionally, we are in communication with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) regarding the administration of the STAAR test and will keep you updated as soon as we have more information on any adjustments.
We are truly looking forward to welcoming our students and staff back. It has been incredible to see the strength, resilience, and heart of this community over the past several days. Let's continue to support one another and carry that momentum forward.
