Reno Elementaryโs second graders became detectives today when they discovered that Pojo had gone missing! Working in detective teams, students traveled through five investigation stations, using their place value skills to crack secret codes, compare numbers, analyze evidence, and follow mathematical clues. Each completed challenge brought them one step closer to solving the mystery!
After putting all the clues together, our junior detectives successfully located Pojo and celebrated a case closed! ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ๐

One of my favorite parts of planning this day was finding creative ways to weave our Bluebonnet Learning reading curriculum into the detective theme! It was so much fun watching students use their background knowledge, academic vocabulary, and reasoning skills to solve each mystery!
๐ A special shout-out to High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) for continuing to inspire me to grow as an educator and find meaningful ways to make learning engaging!

Mrs. McIntoshโs 4th graders turned into full-blown electrical engineers today, and letโs just say the energy in the room was literally electric.
Equipped with D-cell batteries, wire, and tiny lightbulbs, the mini-scientists set out on a mission: break the code of the simple circuit.
Here is how the action went down:
The Trial-and-Error Stage: A whole lot of "Wait, why isn't mine lighting up?!" followed by intense wire-twisting, battery-flipping, and double-checking connections.
The "EUREKA!" Moment: The instant that first tiny bulb flickered to life, the room erupted. Youโd think they just powered up the entire city grid based on the high-fives and victory dances.
