🚶 Walking Students to Class
Wed. 8/13: All families welcome to walk students to class.
Thurs. 8/14: Families will no longer be allowed inside the building (safety protocols).
Kinder Families: May walk students to class on Mon. 8/18—this is their first day with their permanent homeroom teacher.

-Kindergarten: Families may wait until Mon. 8/18 to bring supplies if preferred.

The Springtown Police Department wants to remind our community that school zones will officially be back in effect on the first day of School, August 13th (Wednesday)! 🚦 Please check the school zone times on the graphic below and remember to SLOW DOWN and look both ways for children.

📚 We currently have over 4,400 students registered for the new school year — that’s more than 200 students above last year! While we know first-day “no shows” may bring that number down a bit… that’s still a LOT of Porcupines! 🦔🧡

Every year, the amazing Walnut Baptist Church blesses us with breakfast and lunch during back-to-school inservice 🧡. We are so grateful for the delicious meals, the prayers, and the kind words they pour over our staff during this time 🙏. This church is the true epitome of community support, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the incredible people who lift us up in prayer and support our teachers and students in so many ways! 🌟

The past week has been something special ✨. Our staff has been getting to know each other better 🤝, learning new things 📚, and enjoying all the little moments in between 🧡! Like we said before, the vibe is just different this year 🌟 and we’re expecting nothing less than a GREAT year ahead 🙌 We are ready to fill these halls with students!

Please Note:
Teacher assignments will be provided via a phone call on Thursday for all grade levels, with the exception of Kindergarten.

Kindergarten students will receive a room assignment where they can drop off supplies and meet a staff member. This staff member will collect any important information (such as transportation plans for the first week of school) and serve as your point of contact that evening.

Families are encouraged to visit all Kindergarten classrooms to help their student become familiar with the space. However, official teacher assignments for Kindergarten will not be shared until the weekend of August 16th–17th, due to Reno’s Kindergarten Soft Start.

Please Note:
This is an informational event designed to help families learn what to expect in Pre-K and Kindergarten at Reno Elementary.
Teachers will be present so you can put faces to names; however, teacher assignments will not be shared at this event.

It is highly recommended that families attend this evening to ensure they have all the information needed to make the first few days run smoothly and to better understand what to expect throughout the year.
